Monopoly Melbourne

Everyone's favourite board game is coming to Melbourne.

On Tuesday, the Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and board game maker decidedly agreed to launch a Melbourne version of Monopoly.

However, it is up to Monopoly to decide on what streets and properties are featured in the game as 22 squares need to be filled. Seemingly, houses and properties in Toorak and Brighton, which will occupy the blue-squares, will cost the most.

Initially, it is believed that St Georges Rd in Toorak, or Seacombe Grove in Brighton's Golden Mile are the obvious choices for the Mayfair Square and Park Lane squares.

Sackville Avenue in Kew, and Harcourt Street in East Melbourne are rumoured to occupy some of the green squares.

Despite Melbourne's property boom, the property prices on the board will remain as is with the original game design.

Additionally, there will be no top hat, or boot, instead Melbournians will decide what icons should be included. Does Melbourne choose a cafe latte, or bathing boxes?

The Monopoly Melbourne board game should be in stores by October, just in time for Christmas.
