No matter what size your outdoor patio, terrace or balcony space is, it’s important that you invest in quality outdoor lighting. It’s all about maximising the space you have, by ensuring your living spaces that extend outdoors aren’t neglected and end up as storage areas or even worse, simply unused areas of your new home.
When it comes to choosing the correct lighting for your outdoor area, you need to consider what the space will be used for. For small areas where there isn’t enough room to put a set of table and chairs but you’ll still be putting a few plants, it’s a good idea to highlight the space at night by using lights in the base of the pot plants.

If you have a larger space to work with that features a sheltered area that extends from the apartment’s interior, having a few outdoor downlights installed is a simple yet effective solution that will allow you to entertain guests on your balcony and cook on the barbecue with sufficient lighting.

If you’ve just moved in to your new apartment and there is no outdoor lighting and you aren’t keen on having any further lighting installed professionally, solar powered lights are a fantastic option. These lights are easy to install and come in a variety of shapes and sizes from LED spike lights great for pot plants to string lights, lanterns and table lamps.
Regardless of what style of outdoor lighting you decide on, by illuminating your outdoor area effectively you’ll be able to extend the living spaces of your home even after the sun goes down.
