Whether you cycle for fun, to stay healthy, or as a cost-saving way of getting to work, most new developments will have a secure bike lock-up included in the plan. But if yours doesn’t, there are some great bike racks you can install – and some of them are as cool as they are practical. Let’s take a look…

Bikerax

A stylish home version of the classic front wheel public bike rack, the Australian-made Bikerax is jigsaw-cut from thick, sustainable and long-lasting plywood. Constructed from just four pieces and designed to be on display this rack is available in units for single spikes up to 5 bikes. Choose the natural timber finish or a stylish black option.

Cyclic Endo Wall Mounted Bike Holder

Compact and unobtrusive to begin with, this bike holder is still designed to fold flat against the wall when not in use – this holder really lets your bike be the hero.

Made from robust glass-reinforced polypropylene with protective rubber inserts the Endo uses a hook and pad system and is available in a range of bright colours to match your decor.

Gladiator Bike Claw

Need to keep your bike not only off the floor but off the walls as well? Try hanging it from the roof. So minimal, you might not even notice it’s there the Gladiator Bike Claw employs a simple push-to-grip, push-to-open mechanism making it easy to hang your bike.

Unless you’re a particularly strong-armed individual we recommend this for light bikes only. Lifting a heavy mountain bike up the ceiling will be a strain, though the unit is designed to hold bikes up to 22.7kg.

Cycloc Hero Wall Mounted Bike Holder

Another from Cycloc, this one has a combination of three parts which suspend your bike on a wall so that it visibly floats with barely any sign of the rack itself – although, like Cycloc’s other models, it is available in a range of colours.

Here’s how it works – each of your bike wheels has its own mini shelf, whilst the pedal nearest the wall slots into a third part with an oval opening. It can accommodate platform and clipless pedals. If you consider your bike to be a work of art, this may be the solution for you as your prized two-wheeler is displayed horizontally and side-on.
