Melbourne’s popular inner south suburb of Prahran, with a Walk Score of 100/100, is going to be the home of Anchor & Cecil — designed by award-winning architects Fender Katsaladis.
Not only has it been designed by the renowned architects, but Anchor & Cecil also features kitchens designed by acclaimed restaurateur Shane Delia. Signature elements include gunmetal accents and fluted glass on the cabinets. The addition of butler’s pantries and premium Dolce Stil Novo ranges by SMEG — the latest to emerge from Italy — mean these kitchens have everything needed to entertain guests in style.
Designed in collaboration with Sora Interior Architecture & Design, this collection of homes has been inspired by the rich character of the surrounding streets — and the result is two very different yet dynamic interior palettes.
Anchor Residences reside within the robust podium. These 2 and 3 bedroom apartments have been inspired by Prahran’s edgier side. Interiors feature signature elements such as suspended metal shelving, rich timber-look textured benchtops and exposed concrete ceilings.
Rising above the podium, Cecil Residences take up half a level each and feature decadent fittings and fixtures which exemplify a refined aesthetic. In the living areas, custom television joinery, floor-to-ceiling windows and fireplaces enhance the sense of luxury.
Already a prestigious suburb, Prahran is set to gain a landmark attraction. The City of Stonnington is spending over $60 million on the transformation of an old abandoned car park on Cato Street.
Dubbed Cato Square, the 10,000 square metres multi-functional parkland will become the home of recreational events, festivals, and markets. Complete with commercial tenancies ideal for small business traders and pop-up stores, it all lies within a 6-minute walk of Anchor & Cecil’s doorstep.
Anchor & Cecil is located just 100 metres off Chapel Street which is filled with thriving cafés, restaurants, and bars. Amici Bakery is the perfect place to pick up artisan bread loaves and a freshly brewed coffee in the morning. At night, residents can choose from beloved institutions such as David’s Restaurant and Silverlake Social.
With facilities like an outdoor heated lap pool, a spa, sauna and steam room as well as a toddler’s pool, the whole family can enjoy a day out at the nearby Prahran Aquatic Centre. Alternatively, Victoria Gardens is within easy walking distance. The two-hectare park still retains some of its original Victorian characteristics and is an ideal destination for picnics on the weekend.
Anchor & Cecil is surrounded by high-quality educational opportunities. From Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and Armadale Primary School to Prahran High School and Lauriston Girls’ School, there is an option for students of any age.
