A new development in one of Australia's most recognisable suburbs has just been announced - and whilst not available yet, here is a sneak peek.

181 Fitzroy Street, is a new residential development by builder developer Pace Development Group.

Standing at ten storeys tall, and incorporating 160 spacious apartments, 181 Fitzroy St represents a perfect balance between a large scale development and intimate one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Designed to gracefully recede from the street, levels one to six will reach out to the property's boundary, whilst levels eight through to nine will be set back to take full advantage of the spectacular and unparalleled views.

"Design was hugely important in the development of 181 Fitzroy St – given the art deco architecture style of Fitzroy Street and St Kilda generally, it was important to us to ensure that the streetscape flowed from the neighbouring properties of the Ritz all the way down to The George and the Prince of Wales, whilst still incorporating a modern edge", said Shane Wilkinson from Pace Development Group.

"After building and developing over 60 developments in our 21 year history at Pace, we do a huge amount of due diligence at the front end to ensure that the building is considered both within apartments and externally, and residents can be assured that maintenance of every detail of the building has been carefully investigated, so that our developments look as good at handover as they do 10 years down the track," he said.

Located opposite Junction Oval, and with sweeping views across Albert Park Lake, with the Port Philip Bay to the West, and Melbourne's CBD and St Kilda Rd to the North.

"The location across from Albert Park Lake provides for unparalleled views that will never be built out, and rarely is there an opportunity to have city, park & bay views in one frame", said Wilkinson.

Designed by the contemporary SJB Architects, it is clear that Pace Development Group and SJB Architects have taken design very seriously - adding Sue Carr from Carr Design to develop the sophisticated finishes and fixtures, this truly is the A-Team of Melbourne apartment developments.

"We are extremely excited to have SJB Architects on the design team given their classic timeless style, and given the 60 metre frontage on Fitzroy Street, the building required their award-winning input. We also have Carr Design on board who did the interior features, we were able to do things such as ducted air-conditioning, designer fittings & fixtures, customisation of floor plans and multiple other packages incorporated into the project that is not offered elsewhere in the Melbourne marketplace", Wilkinson said.

And it isn't until you see the 10th level that you understand why.

Located on the tenth level is what separates 181 from the pack - an infinity pool that possesses some of the best views one can get whilst in water, as well as a recreational deck that residents can use to relax or entertain.

Ideal for those that want a balanced lifestyle - but a fun one nonetheless. Only moments away from the beach, Fitzroy St has the Saint Hotel for the casual Tuesday night dinner, as well as the upmarket Cafe di Stasio for a quiet dinner.
