Werden Property Group (WPG), known for other successful projects such as the stunning Hedgeley House, has produced a new apartment development in Glen Iris.

The collection of homes at Aintree Park has been realised by award-winning firm, C. Kairouz Architects. Featuring classic elements such as concrete, metallic shrouds and glass, the building’s façade is a dynamic addition to the streetscape. The design takes full advantage of the project’s corner site, maximising views over the treetops of Aintree Street while achieving an abundance of northern light.

Using next-generation solar glass by Environmental Technology Solutions in the external façade, the building harnesses sunlight and generates energy. This effectively offsets the energy costs for communal areas, such as the grand entrance foyer where hued mirror panelling subtly disperses light against travertine tiles and other reflective surfaces.

Inside, each home has been intelligently designed using a careful selection of materials, such as smooth nickel panelling and characterful marbles. Chahid Kairouz from C. Kairouz Architects says, “Throughout each home, we have selected materials ranging from brushed metals to glass, natural stones and soft fabrics — all chosen to evoke luxury with a slight edge.”

The result is a home imbued with a natural warmth — one that remains durable and timeless. Chahid Kairouz from C. Kairouz Architects says, “We wanted to design interior spaces that felt both luxurious and functional; traditional and modern; much like Glen Iris itself.”

As one of Melbourne’s most sought-after pockets within the city’s blue-chip inner-eastern suburbs, Glen Iris has an enviable range of retail, hospitality, recreation and education amenities and services. And Aintree Park places its residents in the centre of it all.

From the project’s doorstep, it’s only a 5-minute walk to the bustling Malvern village. Residents can explore the gorgeous antique furniture on display at Meirelles and handmade homewares at Turner and Lane. This precinct draws both locals and people from neighbouring suburbs to its outlets.

In between shopping, there are vibrant cafés like Saint James Park or Where’s Henry, where one can stop for a refreshing beverage before exploring the next retailer. Residents have access to even more variety with the retail and dining precincts along Glenferrie Road and High Street only a short tram ride away.

Close to a collection of lush green spaces, like popular Hedgeley Dene Gardens, Tooronga, Gardiner and Central Park, Aintree Park residents can enjoy the ideal setting for an afternoon walk or Sunday picnic with friends and family.

Alternately, weekends can be spent swimming laps at the heated indoor and outdoor pools at the Harold Holt Swim Centre. With a spa and sauna, and regular fitness classes, this staple of the Glen Iris community is ideal for all fitness types and ages.

Whilst Aintree Park has been made for all kinds of owner-occupiers, families will especially enjoy the close proximity of the variety of prestigious educational institutes nearby. Sacre Coeur, Korowa Anglican Girls’ School, Saint Roch’s Primary School and Gardiner Preschool are all less than 15 minutes from the doorstep. Additionally, transport options like the frequently running trams along Malvern Road and the nearby train station mean students can access the premium schools in Melbourne’s CBD in no time.
