Local developers, Fortis Development Group, are set to breathe new life into a quiet tree-lined street in Glen Iris with their latest development, East Grove.

Designed by award-winning architects Ewert Leaf, with landscaping by John Patrick, this boutique collection of 25 contemporary garden residences will elevate the streetscape, blending seamlessly with the surrounding area.

“We want buyers to have a real sense of feeling at home and I think that comes with luxurious open plan living,” says Cathryn Tattersall, Chief Operating Officer at Ewert Leaf. “But it’s also imperative that the plans offer spaces for privacy and intimacy.”

This is evident in the façade’s discreet screening which simultaneously creates a calming play of light and shade within each apartment. Lush plantings by John Patrick Landscape Architects reference the botanical character of the surrounding tree-lined streets.

“We were influenced by the leafy identity of Glen Iris and the terracotta roofs of the surrounding houses,” Cathryn says. “We’ve used a number of design elements to create contrast and light in the building.”

There is no end to the high-quality inclusions which come as standard within these residences. Oak flooring in muted tones complements with white walls and bespoke joinery. Hints of bronze or brushed chrome add an extra level of refinement while natural textures create a unique handcrafted feel.

Private terraces connect to bedrooms via full-height doors, a feature which provides an abundance of natural light. Plush wool carpets and expansive built-in robes fitted with stunning engineered veneers turn the bedroom into a sophisticated retreat.

The designer kitchens have been completely fitted out with integrated Miele appliances which serve to streamline the cooking experience. Meanwhile, marble benchtops and splashbacks complement the grey ash joinery elegantly.

Residents can share everyday meals together and host special occasions in private dining spaces which will comfortably accommodate guests. With a beautiful garden seamlessly connected to the living area, more time will be spent dining alfresco.

Thanks to the project’s prime location on Malvern Road, residents have access to some of the best amenities Glen Iris has to offer. Explore the nearby Gardiners Creek Trail and enjoy being surrounded by nature or enjoy brunch at any one of the trendy cafés — all within walking distance of East Grove’s doorstep.

“Glen Iris is really well located with lots of cafés, restaurants, and parks,” Cathryn says. “It has great access to the city, as well as the freeway — perfect for weekend escapes to the Mornington Peninsula.”

Families have the added benefit of being located in a prestigious school zone, with educational options such as Saint Roch’s Primary School, Caulfield Grammar School, Korowa Anglican Girls’ School, and Camberwell South Primary School positioned nearby.
