ONE30 Hyde Park promises to be the most opulent apartment building yet developed in Sydney.

Designed by Bates Smart to cater for the sybaritic tastes of the affluent, the 38-level building is a return to style, elegance and comfort, using traditional, precious materials – but in a progressive way.

The interiors are timeless, capturing the spirit and sophistication of those grand London and New York buildings that front the city’s major public park. Ground level will feature a variety of complementary retail stores.

“We are creating a building that does justice to our landmark site on the edge of Sydney’s most beautiful public park,” said Sue Ballesty, Marketing Manager of Ecove which is jointly developing ONE30 Hyde Park with the Aoyuan Property Group of Hong Kong.

“From the moment residents walk into the grand sandstone and marble foyer and are greeted by a concierge they will experience gracious living. Then when they reach their apartment they will gain views that are among the best the city can offer.”

The 140 apartments at ONE30 Hyde Park are more like ‘residences’, with world class fixtures, fittings and features. Interiors are a modern interpretation of the luxury and style found in grand early 20th Century properties.

Kitchens have Gaggenau appliances (gas cooktop, electric oven, rangehood, microwave, fully integrated dishwasher). Many have an integrated refrigerator and marble benchtops and splashbacks.

Most master ensuites have a lavish salon feel with a freestanding bath and marble-clad walls.

“We have already been inundated with registrations of interest,” said Ecove sales director, Louis Bechara.

“People are excited by the prospect of living on the edge of Hyde Park, surrounded by internationally-renowned restaurants, shopping and facilities, and enjoying all the convenience of a prestigious CBD lifestyle.

“Business people have been prominent, enticed by the opportunity to live close to where they work – all the while knowing that capital growth of ‘blue chip’ buildings in exclusive locations is more pronounced than any other form of residential property.”

Demolition of the existing building is scheduled to start in February. As part of the development, Aoyuan and Ecove will create a prestigious entry to Museum Railway Station on their site.

“Because the railway line runs adjacent to our site it will be a tricky excavation,” said Ms Ballesty. “We anticipate it will a 12-month demolition and excavation process, with work starting early next year.”

Elizabeth Street is acknowledged as Sydney’s dress circle, and this corner site is probably the finest fronting Hyde Park. ONE30 Hyde Parkis expected to be Sydney’s version of No. 1 Hyde Park in London which achieved world record prices for apartments.

“In Sydney, prices of prime CBD apartments are rising due to the many attractions of living in the heart of one of the world’s most beautiful cities, although they do have a long way to go to reach the heights of London,” said Ms Ballesty.
