A new study investigating the increasing popularity of apartment living shows that more than half of all private homes in Sydney will be apartments by 2057.
This should come as no surprise, given the rapid population growth of Australia’s major cities. The only way to accommodate a thriving, ever-changing populace is to build ‘up’.
“Just like the global cities of London and New York, Sydney is becoming more cosmopolitan with many people wanting to live in urban locations with good access to public transport and amenities,” says Chris Johnson, CEO of Urban Taskforce, the company which commissioned the study.
With this in mind, developers are working harder than ever to provide residential projects which combine connectivity, convenience, and beautiful homes — and one project stands out amongst the rest.
Esplanade Norwest comprises a stunning collection of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom sky residences, all with access to exclusive resort-style amenities, set above a one-of-a-kind waterfront business and dining precinct.
The development team has ensured each and every home is specially curated with all the embellishments of a true ‘house’ so those who live here won’t have to compromise on space, storage or lifestyle.
Construction on the exciting new community is due for completion in mid-2020 and the range of homes has already proven highly popular with purchasers — with almost 90 per cent of the 256 apartments already sold.
Designed by architecture and interior design studio Turner, in collaboration with interior designer Sue Axlund of Axlund & Goldstein, each home features materials which evoke the warmth and beauty of the waterfront landscapes.
Stainless steel appliances, spacious pantries and elegant stone benchtops create a streamlined yet sophisticated kitchen experience. Other premium fittings such as elegant timber-look vanities, stone grey tiles, and plentiful storage can be found in the bathrooms.
Sue helps Esplanade purchasers personalise their new homes. “It’s all about selecting the most functional pieces for each area and creating as many clever storage solutions as required,” she says. Sue also agrees that developers need to focus on what residents both want and need in their daily lives.
“More and more developers are noticing how important pets are to owners so they’re creating larger balconies and enhancing connections to the outdoors — something which is evident at Esplanade,” she says.
Esplanade residents have their own resort-style club, complete with poolside entertaining decks and a luxury club room. The doors can be opened up to allow seamless indoor-outdoor dining, perfect for a warm night spent sipping cocktails with friends and family.
Higher up in the residential tower, there is an incredible garden cinema set amongst verdant lawns and beautiful landscaping. Surrounding this space, residents can choose to host parties in the dining pavilions, recline in the sunset cabanas or retreat to the scenic chill-out spaces.
Esplanade’s development team has put every effort into designing a new comprehensive and connected neighbourhood for apartment dwellers.
