Caydon Property Group has unveiled its plans for Northcote with the announcement of Verso, a boutique 28-apartment building on McCutcheon Street. With locally-inspired art deco exteriors and interiors composed of natural materials, Verso offers the best of the old and the new.

Verso will offer a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments, suitable for individuals, couples and families. Nine exclusive ground-level apartments will have private street access via landscaped courtyards.

“Verso marks the beginning of Caydon’s strategic diversification from high-rise, amenity-laden, mixed-use projects toward smaller, boutique developments,” commented Caydon Principal Joe Russo.

article-imageVerso takes its name as a tribute to Charles Verso, mayor of Northcote during the 1880s, a significant time of growth and establishment for the suburb. S&A Russo Builders have been appointed to construct the four-level development and bring to life the varied yet refined facade which echoes Northcote’s rich past.

The composition of white, brown and orange hues forges a nostalgic vision of bygone times and the layered effect has an impressive impact on the streetscape. With curved frontages and metal and brick materials at play, the architectural design successfully captures what is authentically and essentially Northcote.

Pass through the retro facade and enter your apartment to discover a sanctuary of splendid modern living possibilities. The interior’s natural colour palette, composed of crisp whites, stony greys and warm timbers proves to be stylistic in itself while also serving as a malleable backdrop for crafting your own interior look.

The inviting living space is filled with natural light, highlighting the beautiful feature carpet in a rich green, designed to harmoniously complement decorative indoor plants. And to truly bring the outdoors in, the living room doors slide open and give way to tranquil balconies and serene, private gardens.

Each Verso home is fitted with a designer kitchen, generously appointed with European appliances and quality, textured finishes. Smart features include multi-layered, recessed shelving with backlighting and an island or specially-designed mobile bench for preparing food and dining.

The design remains loyal to its palette in the bathroom, where the aesthetic takes on a more elegant form as textured porcelain becomes the dominant material. Between soft grey tiles and dark, gunmetal grey tapware, timber panels warm the room and create pockets of hidden storage, fusing beauty with functionality.

Upon entering the suburb of Northcote, you’ll be welcomed by a friendly neighbourhood vibe that will make you feel immediately at home. Verso offers residents the ideal balance between the quiet privacy of a suburban street and the vibrancy of a bustling retail and entertainment precinct, with High Street just 50m away. The local boutiques, bars and eateries make Northcote not only a charming place to live but also an entirely practical one.

Northcote is currently experiencing another era of rapid growth and its noticeable transformation is doing well to heighten its appeal – Northcote’s average weekly rental cost has risen by 31.5% in the past three years. And with a vacancy rate of just 1.8%, the demand for quality apartments and the opportunity for investment is clear.

Nature lovers will be thrilled to know that Verso is a short walk from the picturesque All Nations Park, a 13-hectare parkland featuring beautiful views and endless picnic spots. Numerous sporting ovals and running trails along Merri Creek also make Northcote ideal for fitness enthusiasts.

Verso’s connectivity to Melbourne CBD is primed for the daily commuter. Just 6km from the city and with plenty of transport options – as well as a Walkscore of 93 – residents will rarely need to use a car. Of course, if needs must, Verso does offer the convenience of a dedicated underground carpark for all apartments.

Completion is expected in late 2018 and apartments start from $465,000.
