As you drive past the Yarra River in the morning, with Richmond bustling around you, it is not uncommon to notice hot air balloons gliding above.

With distinct views of the CBD, the mountains and the Yarra River, this latest development in Richmond is the talk of the town, and the sky.

Located only 2km from the CBD, at 8-10 New St, ‘Pica’ is the latest boutique development to come into Richmond with a serious emphasis on a unique and atmospheric living.

Inspired by graphic cloud formations, Pica is offering 19 bespoke apartments, comprising 9 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom offerings, ground floor cafe, 14 car spaces, 20 bicycle parks and two motorcycle parks.

Designed by award-winning architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke, the apartments feature astounding views from every angle, including form the upper levels over the MCG, sweeping aspects across the CBD to the west, Richmond to the east, Collingwood and Yarra Bend to the north, and the distant Dandenongs to the east.

Paying homage is a distinctive montage across the building’s façade by award-winning graphic designer, David Pidgeon.

“It’s a subtle but striking graphic of cloud formations and the faintest impression of hot air balloons,” Crock says.

“All 19 apartments are unique, and no two are same. We wanted to bring a luxury approach similar to our previous project homes in Toorak and Hawthorn,” Crock says.

Each floor plan includes at least one outdoor terrace for entertaining, while several offer two, as well as maximum natural light, superb comfort and optimal security.

An option also exists to create a top floor penthouse comprising a 3-bed/3-bath plan. “It’s the rockstar pad,” Crock said.

Potential buyers are invited to the hot air balloon-inspired display suite at 8-10 New Street, Richmond, with all successful purchases to receive their own hot air balloon flight over Melbourne.
