Collaborating with the renowned architecture firm RITZ&GHOUGASSIAN, the building is a striking blend of textured concrete panels and smooth, sleek edges, creating an intriguing architectural harmony.

The interior design, led by local interior design studio Georgina Jeffries, showcases a perfect blend of sophistication and functionality. The use of rich materials like wooden cabinetry, brown ash brick, elegant terrazzo, and natural stone creates a warm and inviting ambience. The custom lighting fixtures, expertly selected in collaboration with Volker Haug Studio from Brunswick East, complement the chosen materials seamlessly.

With over a decade of experience and a range of projects delivered across inner Melbourne, Milieu, along with Plant Street’s collaborators Penfold and MaxCap, is excited to bring this innovative Malvern development to life.

“As with all our projects, the approach to design starts with an ensemble who can understand a
project’s context and respond to it,” said Milieu Director and Head of Development Shannon Peach.

“It’s part curatorial process and part innovative exploration.”

“While Plant Street represents a new locale for our projects, our approach remains the same.”

“We’re curating a building that sits comfortably within its setting, using enduring materials like concrete and brick that will age gracefully.”

Designed to the highest standards, the team also takes sustainability to heart, placing an internal courtyard right at residents' doorsteps, providing a natural haven. Plant Street’s all-electric infrastructure allows for 100% renewable energy, ensuring both eco-friendliness and cost savings, proudly holding a 7-star NatHERS rating to underscore its exceptional energy efficiency.

In addition to these green initiatives, Plant Street demonstrates a forward-thinking approach with EV charging provision at each residence, supporting the adoption of electric vehicles and reducing the carbon footprint. Harnessing the sun's power, a Solar PV system further contributes to sustainable energy generation.

Responsible water management is a priority, exemplified by rainwater harvesting that not only conserves this precious resource but also repurposes it for irrigation purposes, nurturing the lush landscaping. Moreover, the commitment to sustainability extends indoors with energy-efficient appliances and water-efficient fixtures, reducing consumption and promoting an environmentally conscious lifestyle in the community.
