Positioned on a quiet street, away from the activity of Church Street in Brighton, lies Ten To Twelve Lindsay Street — a development inspired by the very area it resides in.

This boutique collection of homes features opulent fittings and fixtures that have been purposely chosen by a design team influenced by Brighton’s rich heritage.

Architect Paul Conrad presents an exterior of timeless character, created by the use of traditional proportions, restrained details, and elegant finishes. These historical elements not only create beautiful architecture but a structure that fits into its surroundings.

“Lindsay Street mirrors the calm and serenity of Brighton,” says Paul Conrad, founder of Conrad Architects. “It’s close to the action but on a quiet road that is lined with beautifully established plane trees to welcome residents home.”

Interior Designer Miriam Fanning, of Mim Design, has also taken inspiration from Brighton’s coastal surrounds. “I really love the area and don’t live far from Lindsay Street myself,” she says.

“It has everything to offer with an array of serene beaches, beautiful shops, prestigious schools, glorious gardens, and easy accessibility — it offers everything.”

Meanwhile, acclaimed landscape designer Jack Merlo admits he’s close to home with his latest refined project.

“I grew up in Brighton and do a lot of work in the area, so I know the location well. A lot of plants that we have chosen are featured in the local gardens so we know they will thrive in the location to create beautiful sanctuaries for each of the residents.”

It’s no wonder Brighton had an effect on the design team. Ten To Twelve Lindsay Street is located right at the heart of this calming, yet bustling, seaside village. Not many areas have boulangeries, fashion boutiques, an independent cinema, and a train station all within walking distance.

Start your day at Brighton Schoolhouse, a local favourite café serving up delicious breakfasts in a former school built in 1843. Next, wander around the local shops like Husk and Lee Mathews, and find some single pieces and assembles.

For lunch, why not try Sicilian-style pizza at Cucina & Co or take some bread or pastries to go from the Woodfrog Bakery. Keep fit in the afternoon at the historic Brighton Baths. This has been the area’s hub for recreation for more than 130 years, and today it continues to offer the community a place for swimming, fitness and wellness.

Take in the latest movie releases at the local Palace Dendy Cinemas before heading for a romantic dinner in a relaxed setting at The Pantry. End with a drink at the Half Moon, an historic establishment offering an extensive list of quality wine and beer — that’s your day in Brighton taken care of.
